LinkedIn Optimization Blog
Dublin, 01.04.2025 – Before starting the DCCE course at Griffith College and launching my own blog, I had already created and managed a personal LinkedIn profile. My goal was to build a professional network in the logistics and chemical sector in Germany and neighboring countries. I began with around 70 contacts, mainly from my university in Germany and employees at our company.
To ensure a professional appearance, I had already documented my academic and work experience – such as beginning my studies at CBS in Cologne in 2023 and starting as a working student at Curt Richter SE in February 2024. I also highlighted key skills I had gained from both work and university, and had a fellow student endorse them.
However, I hadn’t paid much attention to things like headers, personal descriptions, contact details, or engaging with posts from others in my field. So how did I improve my SSI and raise my already solid profile to All-Star level?
The key was networking. I began interacting with almost everything remotely related to supply chain and business. I used ChatGPT to help craft a professional and formal personal summary and contact section. I also selected a header image that matched our company’s branding.
As a rather private person, I initially struggled with commenting or posting publicly. My only post so far is about starting my semester at Griffith College – but it received strong engagement. These steps improved my visibility and helped me reach All-Star status on LinkedIn.
The only thing still missing is a professional profile picture. I haven’t been able to take one while in Dublin, but I definitely will once I return to Cologne.
